Despite very streaky weather we went again recently in the Vogelsberg. On Hoherodskopf we started the 8 mile round trip hike to the amount and hoped that it would stay dry in the next few hours. A few impressions of this show I would walk.
Here it is up to the baptismal font, with 773m the highest peak in the Vogelsberg. The widely known and highly frequented tourist Hoherodskopf is 764m with "only" the second highest mountain.
has arrived at the baptismal font but in fact can even see the sun just once and we decided to climb the 101 steps of the Bismarck tower. From this observation tower in good weather you have a great view.
Today, however, were many dark clouds in the sky and the view, unfortunately, very bad. This is a view of the Hoherodskopf with its transmission towers.
Also on the baptismal font is the Boniface Born. According to legend, here is Boniface, the apostle of the Germans, have preached and baptized. The only way Boniface Born is a kind of stone border, in which rain water collected. A source is not here.
the way in the "jungle", there was much to see - of course in this time of year everywhere fungi
Here is a collage.. Unfortunately, I am familiar with fungi and not name them not. But look at her I can enjoy again and again.
I love those with moss covered stones, especially when the ferns. Here might yet live fairies! ;-)
Unfortunately it started raining again but slightly stronger and we decided to take this opportunity to shorten the path a little.
And here with Angela Angelica . :-)) As you can see on my wet hair, and heard that unfortunately does not stop raining ...
Very idyllic saw it off at the trout ponds. Here I would like to have rested longer.
Nidda The source wanted in spite of abbreviation but we definitely have to watch and we made a detour in that direction.
And now we approached the Nidda source ...
And THE it is! :-))
much to see there are really not, but we had been there at least once and that counts! ;-)) From here they set out on their approximately 90km long way to open the Main in Frankfurt-Hoechst.
Finally we had the climb to Hoherodskopf yet again a very nice view of the countryside. Ensure that it is now raining quite heavily, I love the photo did a good job.
I enjoyed the walk despite the rainy weather and I had all my fun time. GG contended, however, take occasional short with his fate, "running around for hours in the rain" to have. His mood improved but then suddenly, when he was in the Hoherodskopfklause a plate of delicious lamb chops standing before him had. :-))
