Since eating a very central role and takes us all in Japan and at home, then asks, we pay, we thought the issue a detailed report.
morning for breakfast we are not satisfied even the Japanese and us with toast and corn patch. Come the weekend, but we satisfied with a good portion of scrambled eggs bacon! And to a strong coffee and orange juice. Weekdays at noon, we use the abundant and cheap supply of Dokkyo cafeteria. Here is a selection of spaghetti Bolognese, about Soba, Udon, Ramen, curry rice and Gyudon to Dokkyo lunch. Although there is a display case
with the corresponding cast in wax, courts, there was in the beginning but a difficult road to the food distribution. Because first you have to remember the type or name of the court from the machine the appropriate ticket, only to find the proper issuing authority.
They are classified by Chinese noodles, Japanese noodles, rice dishes on flat plates, rice dishes in bowls and pasta. Meanwhile, you've got those out trick. However, one must take the next hurdle and a seat in the overcrowded cafeteria find. The Japanese and Japanese women like to put all their bags, and even the Japanese, to 10 seats despite only four or so. And when a Japanese food no longer enough, you can also using in the cafeteria associated McDonalds a setto (menu) now. In order not to fall asleep during class, after lunch, we enjoy a delicious coffee or regular coffee mocha from the Style Café in University Buildings.
the evening we usually go for Value Supermarket shopping is just around the corner of the dormitory. Mostly we first go directly to the meat counter and look for a good portion of beef or pork. This is in Japan almost always cut into long, thin, bite-sized slices. As a garnish, for the eye, serve mostly carrots, leeks or broccoli times (but never all at once).
Back home, wash the rice first Flo Mambu and is dedicated to the young vegetables.
While the rice is simmering, the meat is delicious in the pan.
Short
later time is added the vegetables
and the whole is a delicious yakiniku sauce or a homemade Ingwar, sugar, soy sauce and sake-rounded. The whole is then as follows eaten from bowls. Only the rice and then the meat with the vegetables.
course, with chopsticks! Sometimes we look but also one of the many that are in the vicinity, Restaurants. Since the Budget would include Sobabar (Japanese buckwheat noodles), the traditional Ramenladen (Chinese noodles) or the slightly more expensive but delicious yakiniku (grilled meat)
and Shabushabu (Sud in cooked meat) restaurants. And if our times of great hunger overwhelmed there are still a tabehodai (all you can eat). The sushi restaurant is rarely visited.
Sometimes we can instruct us also of nice Japanese students in the world of Japanese cuisine. Apart from the fact that they did not know how to cook rice without a rice measuring cup, it has always been very delicious.
was So we also showed how the takoyaki from the Kansai region originating court (baked octopus) prepared. In search of a better dessert we have failed miserably. In Japan there is no regret about our dessert culture. Ten times the packed, are much too small chocolate cookies not only expensive but also often not as tasty.
Please excuse spelling errors and similar faux pas, as we have written the blog entry in the presence of a bottle of Suntory whiskey.
The next trip through the country of the Rising Sun to stand! This time I should not go alone, but together with Henning and Andre. Since I knew from the last trip that the Shinkansen is fast and convenient, but also very expensive, we perform this time with night buses! While taking you around 6 hours, but only half as expensive as the Shinkansen. Since Japanese whatsoever, and can sleep anywhere, it is a night bus for just the right thing! But unfortunately for Flobiginjapan containing only limited ... Well make it short for it, I've eaten is not very comfortable and not soo much sleep ... but fortunately there was before getting on the bus a free coupon for a coffee at McDonalds and we would then redeem the same, but the McDo Unfortunately, only made by 7 clock, so we had to kill an hour. Since you are not in Kyoto can spit without any significant temple meet ;-) we also watched like the first station near you! Very quiet and peaceful at this hour!
Then at 7 AM but first some coffee! luckily there was still the same when buying a Früstücksburgers NEN voucher, so it was no shortage of us coffee! ;-)
After that it went back to the station and onto the roof to the orientation and briefing. The plan was that we travel first south-east by bus and work our way up to North-East. The first temple was the temple of the 1000 Tori, the gates that allow entry into the world of the gods. Very exciting and impressive. The gates were each donated by restaurants or the like.
then followed then a temple / shrine to the next. I have some but have seen and reported on it, I let the details at this point get away.
evening we met up with Jenny, Katja and a few of her new friends. We played a little bar hopping and had a lot of fun. (+ I got my first offer of marriage was ... ;-))
The night we wanted to spend but then men in nem Zen temple. It was an interesting place to stay, but since we do not have the Zen meditation in the morning before with, it was no different in nem hotel, I would say. The plant was however very large and so we already had our first sightseeing before the departure station. Today was the north-west and west of Kyoto will be asked. It went to Kinkakuji, which with the Koyu, the autumn colors of the leaves, looked even more beautiful and Ryoanji Temple with its famous rock garden. In this large rock garden stones are arranged so that no matter where you look, never see all at once! Very interesting!
went: After a light lunch then to the west of the city where we wanted to meet with the girls to walk through the bamboo forest and strolling along the waterfront from temple to temple! Something for the eye to this Jaheszeit!
evening meal we were together then. There was Okonomiyki. Man ordered to what was wanted, the ingredients, beaten egg and then fry it then on a hot plate. Very tasty!
went for the passengers, there is the restaurant directly to the station and an express train to Osaka. As cities continued here, as in the Ruhr merge the transfer does not take long. Now it was the Osaka nightlife-inquire. And there was a lot to explore! Because Osaka is a bit different than Tokyo or Kyoto when it comes to nightlife and the people generally go! It was mentioned all the long nose of strangers where to go for total and if you would not feel like there or come along then! Not exactly very Japanese ... who, incidentally, asked if there is also prostitution in Japan, I would say, at least in Osaka on! (Well it is elsewhere) is because I was approached quite frankly if I wanted to have sex. But I declined politely.
The night was then spent in a Manga / Internet Cafe. A cheap alternative to a hotel or hostel. The famous capsule hotels, we have also discovered, but I could not persuade the two to stay there too! So in the manga shop. There were Internet, TV, massage chair, soft drinks and soft ice cream in price, that is a very nice thing. Sunday's was it then walk through Osaka but the city was like death. Shops and restaurants usually open in Japan on Sundays, but not in Osaka!
Well, after a long walk we arrived at the landmark of Osaka, the castle! Seen from afar it looks sublime, when you come closer, but it loses some of it unfortunately. Therefore, we were somewhat disappointed with Osaka. As the bus went back but only by 24 Clock 10, we tried to make the best out of it and are still around a bit wrong. The return trip was a bit more luxurious than the outward journey, but I'm still not really slept. As it but again I am vouchers were home, had a shower and then I just about exhausted / müdet to college! What a beautiful but strenuous WE!
So I met with Henning and a Frenchman who hstudent as Austausc Hennings at university is to drive to Nikko World Heritage Site. Right now turns in Japan namely the autumn leaves, and the need then be thought of roughly as the famous Indian Summer in the U.S.. D a time when I travel I always had been lucky with the weather (ToiToiToi) we were hoping for many great impressions! (Especially the two photo freaks)
So we bought the station a "World Heritage Pass" in which the Tempelein steps included are (little tip for future visitors to Japan end) and off we went with the Tobu line to Nik ko. After 3 hours' ride we were already on and found that when the last temples not, you probably would never have come to Nikko, for the 18,000 City residents had real village character and is not offered so much to see.
There was also a Turafikujamu (traffic jam) and so was not the way towards the temple really pleasant. But when we were through the town, offered us take the first sight, a sacred bridge, on which only the Shogun convert allowed and still allowed, there would be another one! A very popular photo , so we made a p recordings aar (I actually 2, the freaks 200). Then, purely in a park and we were middle of the action!
The first temple was us! And the leaves around was actually dye already in the process to a very pretty sight!
From there it went to the next temple, the name I unfortunately forgot all and the look does not help further, but the next was the temple with the famous three monkeys,
the say no evil, hear and see. Very nice property resembles, but rather to Thailand
because in Japan, but they are just the Japanese, do not be shy influences from other cultures to integrate into your own! (At least when it suits them ...)
Because in Japan will be dark very early, close the temple, unfortunately, already at 16:30, so we made our way slowly to a slightly more remote temples.
This is, I do not think many tourists on the list because he is a bit wild and overgrown, but I just found this made him very charming! And containing no other tourists were there, whatever that may even be pleasant! ;-) Then we wanted to eat something now, best Sushi! But probably because the place was a holiday and also by many other tourists is visited, the prices were very expensive and we just bought a snack in the conbines ( Convenience Store ) and headed back to Tokyo. The plan: Sushi in the assembly line Asakusa. To make it short, it was not exactly cheap, but worth every yen! The freshest and best sushi of my life ( Sun fare )!
(Thanks Henning for the insider tip)
Then it went a bit tired but very full and satisfied, even back home! A successful trip!
